For 18 years, Rev. Phillips has been Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, North Spartanburg in South Carolina, where he oversees the Education Staff and directs the global missions ministry of the church. He has led mission projects on 5 continents and led the church to develop strategic missions partnerships on each. First North has planted churches in SC, NC, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and California in addition to partnering locally with dozens of missions ministries. Since 1999, the church has given more than $4 million to missions, sends an average of 200 people per year overseas on mission projects, and has seen 52 people called out of the church to missions. Rev. Phillips is married and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He was pastor of two churches in the same association before becoming Associate Pastor of First North.
