Richard Mark Lee became a member of the family of God on Sept 30, 1984. This past June he celebrated 19 years of marriage to his best friend, Wendy. They have two teenage daughters, Jessica and Meredith. Richard served 11 years as a staff pastor before answering God's call as lead pastor of Sugar Hill Church in 2001. In the last 8.5 years, Sugar Hill Church has had over 1900 new members including more than 800 by baptism. During this period of growth, new missions partnerships have been launched in Beirut, Lebanon; Mombassa, Kenya; Gulfport, MS; Gainesville, FL; Baltimore, MD and Bend, OR. The Beirut and Kenya partnerships alone each represent over 100 people from Sugar Hill Church who have been on short term mission projects. Richard holds a Bachelor's Degree from Liberty University, a Master of Arts from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Look for Richard as the author of a few magazine articles, a contributor to a devotional book, and most recently, check out his chapter in "Get Connected," a book released by the IMB this summer. You will also find him training pastors around the world, sharing with them his passion to serve the local church as a shepherd tends to his flock of sheep.
